RĒZEKNES AUGSTSKOLA (REZEKNE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION) is looking for partners. PROPOSED PROJECT IDEA: Saving intangible national heritage of involved countries, particularly folk instrumental music traditions via establishing partner network for sharing experience, developing methodology and creating tools, carrying out scientific research, establishing infrastructure. The specific aim of the project is to establish cooperation network of academic, research professional institutions, NGO and other interested partners in the EU and Partner countries. The target would be to develop innovative life long learning programs and aprobation of developed methodology using intanglible cultural heritage of each participating country – related to instrumental folk music, including tradition iof playing musical instruments in families, production of musical instruments, and deepest national values that are trasfered via generations using this tradition. About 2000 students are involved in 39 study programs offered in 4 faculties - Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Education and Design, Faculty of Humanties and Law in academic year 2012/2013. More than 120 universities and organizations in the EU, and neighboring countries (Russia, Byelorussia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Uzbekistan) are current international partners of Rezeknes Augstskola. Foreign students study in Rezeknes Augstskola since 2000 within Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus programs’ mobility. Since 2011 students from Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan have been enrolled in full time degree programs. Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) was established at Rezeknes Augstskola to strengthen link between higher education and society in 2004. More than 60 programs are offered by LLC to various groups of society to satisfy needs for further education, including expertise in culture and traditions of folk music. Strong link with NGO in the region helps to integrate academic knowledge, professional skills and folk traditions.
