Project idea 1. Creating an effective professional re-training for older people

The target group: older people (45 and above), the Ministry of Education, regional authorities, trade unions, universities (part-time, distance education, professional development and re-training departments), business.

The overall goal: To promote the development of Ukraine's economy through implementing the concept of lifelong learning

The specific objective: To promote economic activity of older people by offering them career guidance and assistance in mastering new professions.

Tasks:

1. To provide information and institutional support by the universities in career guidance to older people.

2. To give the universities’ staff the training on the forms and methods of older people’s vocational guidance.

3. To train the university teachers in order to adjust new teaching methods for older people.

4. To form the higher education infrastructure to support the older people’s learning and re-training.

5. To monitor the labor market in the context of the economy needs in retraining.

6. To establish strong links with the business community in the area of employment and retraining of older people.

7. To organize full-time, part-time and distance education of older people on the basis of advanced educational methods and technologies in line with the European standards.

Expected results:

1. Career guidance departments, functionally and methodologically oriented to work with older people, will be established at the universities.

2. There will be held staff internships for career guidance units to master advanced techniques for the labor market monitoring and working with older people.

3. There will be held training for teachers on mastering modern forms and methods of older people’s training.

4. Agreements with enterprises on retraining older people will be signed.

5. There will be held seminars and trainings of personality growth for a wide range of participants in order to stimulate demand for educational services among the elderly.

6. The study groups of older people will be organized.

7. The information support of the project and dissemination of its results will be ensured.

Project idea 2.   Financial Analyst Educational Programme

Overall goal is to increase international competencies and students mobility.

Specific goal is to develop a training program for stock market experts according to the Bologna process implementation in Ukrainian universities practice.

Tasks.

1. Develop educational program “Financial Analyst”.

2. Develop and implement training programs for teachers.

3. Prepare a methodical maintenance of developed courses.

4. Develop a technique of students training.

5. Distribution of project results.

Activities.

1. Conduct a seminar devoted to problems of improving educational programs of financial analysts.

2. Training of teachers in European universities.

3. Training of students in leading European banks to study modern techniques of financial markets analysis.

3. Preparing of educational materials.

4. Conduct business game and roundtable conference for students involving financial professionals.

5. Conduct annual scientific conference devoted to financial education problems.

6. Creation and maintenance of project website.

Expected results.

1. Create an educational program for financial analysts in specialty “Finance and Credit”. The curriculum specialization "Financial Analyst".

2. Plan and internship programs.

3. Reports on internships.

4. Publication of educational materials.

5. Publication and distribution of materials on the results of the summer school.

6. Publication of science conference and roundtable materials.

Project idea 3. Innovation-Oriented Education from Pre-School to Higher Education Level

The overall goal: to create the innovation-oriented society in Ukraine.

The specific objective: to enhance the innovation capacity of the Ukrainian population by introducing new forms and methods of training, contributing to the development of human creativity from an early age

Tasks:

1. To develop the concept of continuous learning from pre-school training to higher education institution with the application of forms and methods that contribute to the development of creative and innovative potential in a person.

2. To design and launch the programs for professional development of teachers at pre-school, junior, secondary and higher education establishments.

3. To develop a methodology of holding creative competitions for pre-school children, a program of competitions on innovative ideas for secondary school students and of university students’ innovative projects, and to bring them to a level of practical suggestions

4. To monitor the innovative learning environment in order to assess the state of internal and external resources to create the strategy of expansion and development of innovative potential, to combine and design a strategy for further development.

Expected results:

1. The association of educational institutions (pre-school, elementary school, secondary school, higher school) will be established to introduce an innovation-based learning.

2. The continuous professional development programs for teachers will be launched (trainings, workshops, seminars will be held).

3. Creative competitions for pre-school children, a program of innovative ideas competitions for secondary school students and of university students’ innovative projects will be prepared, organized and held.

4. A strategy for the association’s further development will be designed, and a new project aimed at further development of the network will be prepared.

Project idea 4. Student International  Career Mobility Center

Target group: students and student unions, university teachers and administrative staff, local and state government bodies, international student organizations

Overall objective: to facilitate the promoting of ukrainian students and graduates global competitiveness on the international labour market

Specific aim: to provide the activation of international students mobility by creating of coordinating body (Students International  Career Mobility Center)

Tasks:

  1. To position the Ukrainian universities as institutions oriented on training of specialists competitive on the global market
  2. To facilitate the networking between Ukrainian and European universities; to develop and implement the students international academic mobility programs
  3. To analyze and to apply the experience of European universities in respect of professional orientation work throughout the studying period
  4. To provide the institutional platform for Students International  Career Mobility Centers creation
  5. To implement the modern technologies that facilitate the effective online communication in context of international students mobility intensification
  6. To study the requirements and preferences of the foreign employers and internship providers, as well as the modern international labor market features and to consider them while training the young professionals
  7. To study the students preferences in respect of potential international employment and internship opportunities
  8. To increase students and graduates adaptivity to the real conditions of professional activity

Results:

  1. Creation of the Students International  Career Mobility Center that studies the modern tendencies and requirements of international labor market (development and implementation of short-and long term teachers and students exchange programs)
  2. Development of the methodology of Ukrainian universities curriculum adaptation to the requirements of international labor market
  3. Organization of the international staff trainings to acquire the experience of international career mobility processes arrangement
  4. Implementation within the Center framework of the advanced training and skills upgrading programs for graduates in context of current employers requirements(professional language, international financial reporting standards, taxation studying)
  5. Forming of the international cooperation network "UNIVERSITY-ENTERPRISE" with the creation of database of enterprises interested in short-and long term Ukrainian students and graduates employment
  6. Launch of the Internet social network "Students International  Career Mobility Network" (SICaM-NET) aimed to consolidate the students, graduates, teachers and potential employers
  7. Carrying out the trainings, seminars, forums, round tables with Ukrainian and foreign practice specialists being involved

Project idea 5. Building a global network of inter-university research 

Target group: young university professors, graduate students, local authorities, the Ministry of Education, public research organizations

Global objective: to inter-regional and international contacts among researchers.

Specific objective: to enhance the research activities of young scientists at Ukrainian universities by providing informational, social, scientific and methodological platform for doing shared scientific search.

Objectives:
1. To generate institutional support for cooperation among young scientists at universities in Ukraine and Europe.

2. To develop an information platform for the professional on-line communication of young scientists at universities in Ukraine and Europe.

3. To enhance the exchange of scientific research results among young scientists.

4. To establish sustainable links among universities in Ukraine and among Ukrainian and European universities.

5. To promote the universities’ dialogue with the local authorities and business community in the direction of enhancing the financing of research and commercialization of the results.

6. To develop a methodological support for organizing an informational, social and scientific research platform for young scientists’ inter-university communication and to organize competitions of scientific papers.

Expected Results:

1. An association of young scientists of universities in Ukraine will be established.

2. There will be introduced an Internet portal for networking of young researchers at universities in Ukraine to organize and coordinate common research.

3. There will be held trainings on organizing inter-university scientific communication of young scientists with specialists from Europe.

4. Internships will be organized for managers and administrators of the Inter-University Network.

5. Regular inter-university academic forums will be held..

6. Regular inter-university competition of young scientists’ scientific works will be run..

7. Virtual inter-university research laboratories will be organized within the inter-university scientific research information network.

8. Information newsletters will be issued.

9. A free electronic bank for research papers will be created.

10. Permanent consultation centers to support young scientists’ research will be established.
