The National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts in Ukraine selected

August 17, 2009. The National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (9 HERE team members) has been selected and approved by the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine and the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture after the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Ukraine and communication of the National Tempus-office with candidates. HERE team details about the task and responsibilities are available at the website “National Experts Team”.

The HERE team work plan will be available in October 2009.

Two representatives of HERE team will be elected to participate in the Seminar for Bologna and Higher Education Reform experts “Competences for the Future” in Warsaw in October 23-24, 2009.

The following experts are included into the main list:

  • Mr. Taras Finikov, Deputy Minister for Education and Science of Ukraine (responsible for modernization of Higher Education (HE) at the Ministry, has a good track record of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) reform and Bologna principles implementation, legislation in HE development).
  • Mr. Mykhailo Stepko, 1st Deputy Director for Academic and Research Work, Institute of Higher Education, Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (profound experience in Bologna principles harmonization with Ukrainian HE, co-author of Bologna Progress reports, HE legislation, articles and students textbooks in Bologna and Lisbon strategy fundamentals and implementation, management and administration in the sphere of higher education).
  • Dr. Yuriy Rashkevych, Vice-Rector for Academic Work and International Relations, National University “Lvivs’ka Politekhnika” (expert in ECTS implementation into Ukrainian Universities, modernization of University management, implementation of innovation technologies into HEI, international educational projects management).
  • Dr. Yuriy Kholin, Vice-Rector for Studies and Research, Kharkiv National V.N. Karazin University (expert in supervision and coordination of activity to ensure quality of teaching and adaptation to the requirements of the Bologna principles, university autonomy issues).
  • Dr. Andriy Kuchko, 1st Vice-rector, Donetsk National University (expert in quality assurance of education, cooperation between universities and enterprises, curricula reform, international educational projects implementation in frame of Tempus program in particular).
  • Mr. Volodymyr Kravtsenyuk, Master Student, Kyiv National Linguistics University (experienced in accreditation and licensing of HEI, monitoring of students solution and coordinating with university administration, educational projects management, pro-active member of the Ukrainian Students Council, Students council of Kyiv, Forum of young leaders of Ukraine).

  • Mr. Oleg Sharov, 1st Vice-Rector, University for Economics and Law “KROK” (expert in the development of quality management systems in higher education, autonomy and management of HEI, analytical work in higher education).
  • Dr. Volodymyr Luhovyi, Vice-President, Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (expert in public policy and administration in higher education, education management; pedagogy of higher education, training of pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical personnel and public servants, co-author of legislation documents in HE).
  • Dr. Taras Dobko, 1st Vice-rector, Ukrainian Catholic University (expert in globalization and identity issues, university autonomy and academic culture).

Tempus Projects

During the I, II, III phases of the Tempus Program since 1993 to 2009 with active participation of the Ukrainian partners about 300 projects implemented. As the result of the six calls for proposals of Tempus IV 94 projects in Ukraine include 76 Joint Projects (including 12 national ones) and 18 Structural Measures (including 6 national ones).
