| Strengthening capacities in the cultural sector |

The European Commission announced the call for proposals “Strengthening capacities in the cultural sector”. The overall objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the creation of a political, regulatory, institutional and economic environment conducive to the strengthening of the cultural sectors and their actors as a vector for sustainable economic, social and human development.
The call for proposals is divided into two lots with the same overall objective but some different specific objectives and different geographic dimensions. The first lot called “Investing in people”, the second called “Eastern Partnership Culture program”. Applications must concern only one of the following lots. The maximum grant amount, which can be requested within the “Investing in people” lot is 400,000 euro, within “Eastern Partnership Culture program” lot is 700,000 euro. In order to be eligible for a grant, applicants must be a legal person, non-profit making and belong to one of the following categories: non-state actors; public or para- Statal bodies and local authorities and consortia or their representative associations; regional intergovernmental organizations. The planned total duration of the project may not be lower than 18 months nor exceed 36 months. The deadline for submission the applications is 19 November 2010.
